I want to go outside

It is sooo nice outtt
I'm sick of being stuck in a classroom teaching all day.
This placement has proven to me that although I am capable of doing a good job teaching in the primary grades, I would much prefer the junior grades. I'm better in junior. ... We still have 13 full teaching days left until we're done.

Two things:
1) I have been having epic battles with the printers in my house on a daily basis. Sometimes twice a day! Sarah showed this to my sister (who has also been battling with them) and I love it.

I actually laughed out loud, by myself in my room while I was reading it. I even paused my Harry Potter so that I could pay more attention to it because that's how good it was.
2) I found this on my computer. It is from about a month ago but I totally forgot that it had happened, let alone that I had taken a picture of it.
I was upset one night so while I was talking to Geordie he went off screen and then came back with this to cheer me up.
I love my boyfriend.

Andy Hull

please
don't
leave
me
and I wish you'd say
please
don't leave
me

and I'm so scared of dying
since we watched it go down
down
down
I told you I need you when you screamed hallelujah
here we go

did you hear my voice on the telephone
trying to feel alive again?

The Blizzard's Never Seen the Desert Sands

Yesterday we went to a War of 1812 reenactment. The people putting it on actually live in their tents for the whole weekend, cook their meals over a fire, and are in full militia uniform. Whole families participate and it's like stepping back in time. Everything looks so real. Here are some pictures of that.

A family getting ready for dinner.

The blacksmith.
We were thirsty so we bought a drink. It was lemonade and it came like this. SO cool. I was thrilled. I feel like we should drink all things out of corked bottles.
While we were waiting for the war we went wandering around the reservation and found a path in the woods which led to this. We love boardwalks and bridges and so we were very excited.

Those plants were so green compared to everything else!
That is where we were headed. I LOVE bridges.

Crossing the bridge
Playing in the woods
The battle begins!
The British arrive on the scene
Advancing and leaving the dead on the field
The Americans have been driven off
Indians! Complete with mohawks
Heading back to camp after the battle. Yes they fire those canons.
Getting out of formal uniform dress
Afterwards we went back to the house for dinner and then we went to the theater to see The Hobbit. It was well-done and quite fun. We realized while we were there that we had just lived out an exciting Saturday for retirees. We then decided that we aren't acting like old people, but rather that we find pleasure in a wider variety of activities and are easily amused. Being easily amused is a wonderful quality I think.. I feel like we must be happier more often if it's easier for things to make us smile.

Today I am home.
It's only been a few hours since he left me here.
I hate the leaving part.

Into the Stream

These are just a few from a longboard/walk we went on one day.

and turn around
all their limit signs
and redirect this
this great old boring road
into the depths
of a lion's mouth
just to see
if there's something we believe

I Won't Be Found

I arrived in London on Wednesday. On Thursday evening we went out to the river. Here are some pictures of our adventures there.
This bridge was really cool and really big. It was so windy out that we could hear the metal frame vibrating which was a little bit unsettling but I love heights.
The view of the river from the bridge.

This is the tree we climbed. We think it has some sort of disease because there are growths beneath the bark. It was more like climbing a tree-shaped rock-climbing wall than anything else. Definitely fun.

This is an old pump house built during the 1800's.

Every wall of this building was literally covered in people's names.

I think The Tallest Man on Earth was our musician of choice this week.
I shall post more adventure photos later on.
